Former Nickelodeon Star Dead at 33 – Cause of Death Revealed
Kianna Underwood, an actress who appeared on Nickelodeon’s All That as a child, died in a hit-and-run accident on Friday, January 16. She was 33 years old, according to reports from The New York Post and Variety.
Underwood was crossing the street at Watkins Street and Pitkin Avenue in the Brownsville area of Brooklyn, New York, around 6:50 a.m. when a black Ford SUV struck her. Video footage obtained by The New York Post shows the vehicle continuing for nearly a block with her underneath before she was found at the intersection of Osborn Street and Pitkin Avenue. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Underwood had a long career in television, film, and theater. In addition to her 2005 appearance on All That, she voiced Fuschia Glover in 23 episodes of Little Bill from 1999 to 2004. She also acted in films such as The 24 Hour Woman, starring alongside Rosie Perez, Patti LuPone, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and had a small role in Death of a Dynasty, a comedy about the hip-hop world featuring Kevin Hart. On stage, she spent a year performing as little Inez in the first national tour of Hairspray.
Underwood was born in New York City and later moved to Los Angeles, according to The Post.
