Former SATC Co-Star Sparks Drama After Comment on Sarah Jessica Parker’s Golden Globes Win
Sarah Jessica Parker faced renewed attention after a comment from her former Sex and the City co-star Chris Noth stirred talk online. The actress, known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw, recently received the Carol Burnett Award at the Golden Globes, a career honor that led to unexpected reactions.
Noth, who played her on-screen husband Mr. Big, shared a photo of himself working out on Instagram with the caption, “F*** new years – LETS GO!!!!” When a follower teased him about ignoring Parker’s award, he replied simply, “Right.” The response surprised fans given their shared history on the show and the revival And Just Like That.
The relationship between Parker and Noth has been complicated by past allegations of s**** assault against Noth. In 2021, two women accused him of incidents dating back to 2004 and 2015 in Los Angeles and New York City. Noth denied the claims, calling them “categorically false” and saying the encounters were consensual.
Following the allegations, Parker distanced herself from Noth. When The Hollywood Reporter asked if she had spoken to him since December 2021, she said, “No.” She and her co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis also released a statement supporting the women who came forward: “We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”
Interestingly, Noth had previously defended Parker against rumors of tension with another co-star, Kim Cattrall. In an interview with The Guardian, he expressed strong support for Parker, criticizing negative remarks about her and showing his protective stance toward his former co-star.
Despite the tension, Parker continues to be celebrated for her career achievements, and her focus remains on her own work. Noth, meanwhile, has largely stepped back from acting since the allegations surfaced.
This situation shows how past controversies and public statements can shape the perception of celebrity relationships. It’s a reminder that behind the on-screen chemistry, real-life challenges and accountability play a big role.
