Former “Saturday Night Live” star Chris Redd shared a candid and emotional video on his Instagram Tuesday morning, revealing that he sold pills to other cast members while he was on the show.

The roughly six-minute clip was posted as a way for Redd to be more open about his struggles and his life.

“While I was at the show, I had some pill issues, you know, some pill problems,” Redd said. “Nothing too crazy, but crazy for my black a**. And I was even selling some to some of my castmates. I’m not gonna snitch on y’all m********* man.”

Redd described feeling hurt by how his colleagues reacted to his struggles. Instead of receiving support, he said he often faced judgment and criticism.

“I would hear them because, you know, some of that Adderall s*** got you super hearing and s***,” he explained. “But [they] wouldn’t help me, you know. I would have panic attacks, [they] wouldn’t be concerned about me or nothing. Just would talk s***. It’s crazy how somebody would watch you destroy yourself.”

Redd joined “SNL” as a featured player in 2017 and stayed for five seasons, leaving the show in 2022 before its 48th season.

During his time on the show, he was known for his impression of then-New York Mayor Eric Adams and appeared in multiple pre-taped sketches. He also shared a 2018 Emmy win for writing the song “Come Back, Barack,” which humorously encouraged former president Barack Obama to run for office again.

Since leaving “SNL,” Redd has acted in series like “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” and “Happy Family USA,” and appeared in films including “Merv” and “Candy Cane Lane.”
