Fox has officially announced that The Great North, its popular animated comedy, will not return for a sixth season.

The news comes shortly after the show wrapped its fifth season. The series was executive produced by Wendy Molyneux, Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin, and Loren Bouchard, and has been a staple of Fox’s Animation Domination lineup since its debut.

Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network, shared his appreciation for the team behind the show.

“We’re so grateful for everything Wendy, Lizzie, Loren and the amazing cast and crew put into The Great North. It’s difficult to say goodbye, but we’re thankful for the five hilarious seasons The Great North brought to the iconic Animation Domination lineup,” he said.

The cancellation of The Great North also marks the end of Fox’s 2025 bubble shows, which included Rescue HI-Surf, Accused, Alert: Missing Persons Unit, and The Cleaning Lady. Of these, Accused may return as a special event, while the others, including The Great North, were canceled. Some decisions, like Rescue HI-Surf, were made earlier in the year, but the fate of The Great North and other shows was only confirmed after the most recent seasons concluded.

The Great North first premiered on January 3, 2021, and concluded its fifth season on September 14, 2025. The show featured the voices of Nick Offerman, Jenny Slate, Will Forte, Dulcé Sloan, Paul Rust, and Aparna Nancherla. Over the years, Fox had renewed the series multiple times, often ahead of its season premieres, demonstrating strong confidence in the show’s performance.

Fans have enjoyed five seasons of humor, family dynamics, and quirky adventures set in Alaska. With the show officially ending, viewers are left to revisit its memorable episodes and characters.
