Fox News host Jesse Watters is facing backlash after making awkward and inappropriate remarks about Jennifer Aniston’s appearance during Wednesday’s episode of The Five.

The conversation started when Greg Gutfeld, another co-host, brought up former California congresswoman Katie Porter, who has been in the news for her tense exchanges with reporters and staff.

Gutfeld attempted to frame her unpolished public image as a positive trait, saying he admired her for not changing her looks to fit television standards. He joked that before the rise of online beauty tutorials, “everyone looked like Katie Porter.”

He went on to say that people didn’t become “attractive until the internet” and added that the cast of Friends “weren’t even hot.” That’s when Watters chimed in, saying Jennifer Aniston “looks better now, like, 20 years older.”

The discussion quickly went off track, with some of the hosts laughing and interrupting each other. Eventually, co-host Harold Ford Jr. stepped in to end the uncomfortable exchange and steer the show back to its main topic. But Watters circled back again, reversing his comment and saying, “I actually think Jennifer Aniston was much better looking in Friends. I think I meant she’s more glamorous now.”

Ford then cut him off with, “Why don’t we get on to the next segment?” clearly done with the conversation.

Before moving on, co-host Katie Pavlich added a remark of her own, suggesting that Aniston’s polished appearance today might come down to money, saying, “Money buys a lot of makeover… for everyone.”

Jennifer Aniston, best known for her role as Rachel Green on Friends and now star of The Morning Show, has not responded to the comments.

The actress has previously been open about her struggles with IVF and fertility and has also criticized some figures in the Republican Party. Last year, she publicly spoke out against then, Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance after his controversial comments about women without children.

The exchange on The Five shows how easily political talk shows can slide into pointless, sexist commentary. Aniston’s looks shouldn’t even be part of the discussion — especially in a segment that was supposed to be about politics. What do you think about Watters’ remarks? Should Fox News address this kind of behavior from its hosts? Share your thoughts in the comments.
