Franklin Richards Set for Major Role in ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ New Casting Rumors Reveal

Fantastic Four: First Steps is one of the most anticipated MCU releases, as it finally brings Marvel’s “first family” to the big screen after some past unsuccessful attempts.

In the main cast, Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards, while Vanessa Kirby takes on the role of Sue Storm. Ebon Moss-Bachrach will portray Ben Grimm, and Joseph Quinn will play Johnny Storm.

Soon after the movie was announced, rumors began circulating that it would include Franklin and Valeria Richards, the children of Reed and Sue. Franklin is said to have a connection with Galactus (played by Ralph Ineson), as he is supposedly born in space.

Recent set leaks show Vanessa Kirby holding a child, though it hasn’t been confirmed if that child is actually Franklin.

Now, according to trusted industry insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios is searching for a 10-13-year-old actor to play Franklin in Avengers: Doomsday, where he’s expected to have a major role. Franklin will reportedly be 4 years old in First Steps, suggesting a time jump between the two films.

This is just my speculation, but if the rumors are true, Franklin Richards could play a key role in controlling—and possibly stopping—the incursions.

Franklin is one of the most powerful mutants (former), with incredible reality-warping and cosmic abilities. In the comics, he even helps rebuild the multiverse after it’s destroyed, making him crucial to restoring everything when there’s no hope left.

Based on the comics, it’s clear Franklin has a big role in this multiverse chaos, but it’s also possible that Doom might try to use Franklin’s powers, especially since the Beyonder isn’t currently part of the MCU.
