German Teen Series Season 2 Beats American Hit ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ on Prime Video

The German romance drama series Maxton Hall — The World Between Us is taking Prime Video by storm with its second season. According to streaming data from FlixPatrol, the show has overtaken the popular American series The Summer I Turned Pretty, now holding the number one spot in multiple countries, including the U.S., UK, and South Africa.

The series, which is based on Mona Kasten’s 2018 novel Save Me, first premiered on May 9, 2024. It stars Damian Hardung as James Beaufort and Harriet Herbig-Matten as Ruby Bell. After its initial release, Maxton Hall became the most-watched series on Prime Video worldwide, topping charts in over 120 regions.

Season two debuted on November 7, and has already drawn praise for its portrayal of the characters’ romance and personal struggles. The show currently holds an 89% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, reflecting strong approval from viewers.

Fans of the series can expect more drama and romance as the main characters navigate their lives and relationships. Ahead of the premiere of season two, Prime Video confirmed that a third season is already in the works, set to continue the story of James and Ruby.

Jonas Meyer, a streaming analyst at FlixPatrol, said in a statement, “Maxton Hall is showing that non-American series can capture global audiences. Its second season clearly resonated with viewers, and the numbers speak for themselves.”
