A new horror movie is finally ready for release after years of delays. Psycho Killer will arrive in theaters on February 20, according to 20th Century Studios. The project has been in development for more than a decade and is now reaching audiences at last.

The film comes from writer Andrew Kevin Walker, who is best known for writing the dark thriller Se7en. The story follows a Kansas highway patrol officer named Jane, played by Georgina Campbell. Her character is hunting the man responsible for killing her husband. During the search, she learns the suspect is a dangerous murderer known in the media as the Satanic Slasher. The killer is played by James Preston Rogers.

This movie has had a long and complicated path to production. Back in 2009, several filmmakers were connected to the project at different times. Fred Durst was once attached as director, and horror filmmaker Eli Roth was also linked to producing the film. In the end, Gavin Polone stepped in to direct the movie, marking his first major feature film as a director.

A preview clip has already been shared online. The footage shows a tense moment from the killer’s point of view as he waits for his next victim. The cast also includes Logan Miller and Malcolm McDowell.

The movie has received an R rating for strong bloody violence, strong s*** content, graphic nudity, drug use and language. The rating suggests the film keeps the dark tone the writer is known for. Many horror fans have waited years for this release and are curious if it will match the hype.

Movies that spend years in development can either become huge hits or big disappointments. This one has a strong writer and an intense story, so expectations are high. Do you think this film could become the scariest movie of the year? Share your thoughts in the comments.
