Kratos actor Christopher Judge has suggested that the next God of War game could take place in Egypt. Speaking at MCM London Comic Con, Judge said that visiting Egypt “would be a completion of my circle,” referencing his famous role as Teal’c in Stargate.

He also added, “but whatever is decided… if there is another game, no matter what pantheon it is, it will be great.” The information comes from a report by GamesRadar+.

Fans have long speculated about Egypt as the next setting for the series. After Kratos has already battled gods from Greek and Norse mythology, it seems like a natural next step for him to face a new set of deities.

Earlier this year, there were reports that Sony was casting Middle Eastern actors for a new AAA game, which many believe could be the upcoming God of War set in Egypt.

In addition to the games, the God of War franchise is also moving to television. A live-action series is in development for Amazon Prime Video.

It was first reported by Deadline in March 2022, with Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, creators of The Expanse, and Rafe Judkins, showrunner of The Wheel of Time, originally attached to the project. Sony later confirmed the series during a May 2022 investor briefing.

The series was officially ordered in December 2022 and will be produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios with PlayStation Productions.

It will be available in over 240 countries. The show is set to adapt the Norse era of the games, starting with the story from the 2018 installment. Ronald D. Moore has recently been brought in as the showrunner, writer, and executive producer after the original team left the project to take a new direction.

With both a possible Egyptian adventure in the next game and a TV series on the way, the God of War universe is expanding in exciting ways. Christopher Judge’s enthusiasm hints that the franchise might continue exploring new mythologies and locations, keeping fans eager for what comes next.
