Godzilla Returns in New Comic Series with Rare Art Adams Cover

Godzilla is making a big return to comic books, and fans have something special to look forward to. IDW is releasing a new Godzilla comic, written by Tim Seeley with artwork by Nikola Čižmešija. The first issue will be hitting comic book shops soon, and there’s already buzz thanks to a special alternate cover made by legendary artist Art Adams.
The cover reveal comes directly from IDW. Art Adams, who’s famous for his past work on Godzilla, has created what’s called the “C cover” for issue #1. There’s also a full art version of the same cover that’s even more rare. Only comic stores that order 150 copies of the first issue will get one of these full art variants.
IDW editor Jake Williams shared how thrilled the team is to have Adams involved. “It’s not a Godzilla relaunch without a variant cover by one of the most iconic artists to ever illustrate the King of the Monsters. We’re beyond thrilled to have Art Adams join us to usher in the Kai-Sei Era. Art’s cover brilliantly melds his iconic take on Godzilla with our brand new Kai-Sei design,” he said.
This new comic marks the beginning of a shared universe at IDW, similar to how the Monsterverse from Legendary works. Just like the movies Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and the upcoming Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, plus the streaming series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, IDW plans to build a larger world around Godzilla in the comics.
