‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ May Face Another Delay, Insider Claims, Here’s Why
Recently, on the “Button Mash” podcast, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier spoke about GTA 6 and shared some concerns about the game’s release.
Schreier explained that the game is still not finished. Developers are reportedly finalizing missions and deciding what content will make it into the final version. After that, the team will move on to bug fixes.
“Nobody at Rockstar seems 100% certain they’ll make it,” Schreier said, suggesting that a November 2026 release might be optimistic. He added that Rockstar wants the game to be perfect and would rather delay it than release it before it meets their standards.
Originally, GTA 6 had been planned for a November 2026 launch. However, since Take-Two’s fiscal year ends in late March 2027, the team technically has a bit of flexibility to push the game into early 2027 if necessary. This means fans could still face another delay.

With so little official information from Rockstar, players are left speculating and examining every small detail, from screenshots to development leaks. Schreier also noted that Sony has reportedly planned its upcoming game lineup around GTA 6’s launch, which could create additional pressure on the release schedule.
While a delay would be disappointing, many gamers would likely prefer waiting a little longer for a polished game rather than getting a rushed product.
It seems the wait isn’t over yet. What do you think, will GTA 6 hit November 2026, or are we looking at a delay into 2027? Share your thoughts in the comments.
