‘Gremlins 3’ Set to Hit Theaters as Warner Bros. Confirms Release Date
Fans of Gremlins have a reason to get excited. Warner Bros. has officially announced that Gremlins 3 will be released in theaters on November 19, 2027.
The project has been given the green light by Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav, making the return of the mischievous mogwai official.
Chris Columbus, who wrote the original Gremlins film, will both produce and direct the new movie. Steven Spielberg will return as an executive producer through Amblin Entertainment. Columbus recently worked on the Netflix adaptation of The Thursday Murder Club, another Amblin project, and is bringing his experience back to this franchise.
So far, few details about the story or cast have been revealed. It is not yet known whether original star Zach Galligan will reprise his role or if a new generation of characters will take center stage.
This will mark the first Gremlins film since Gremlins 2: The New Batch in 1990. Fans have had animated series in the meantime, with Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai and Gremlins: The Wild Batch debuting on HBO Max in 2023 and 2024.
With Columbus and Spielberg involved, expectations are high for a film that captures the charm and mischief of the original movies. According to THR, the timing of the release suggests a major holiday event, potentially landing alongside other family favorites like Snow White.
