‘Gundam’ Star Sydney Sweeney’s Holiday Campaign Turns Christmas Classics Into Lingerie, and the Internet Noticed
Celebrity-founded brands live or die on whether anyone talks about them, and few founders have engineered conversation as relentlessly as Sydney Sweeney has this year. Since launching her intimates label in January, she has kept it in the news cycle through staggered drops and campaigns built to be screenshotted. The SYRN holiday campaign is the most elaborate swing yet.
The brand’s foundation explains the approach. Sweeney launched SYRN, pronounced “sye-rin,” on January 28, structuring it around 4 worlds meant to reflect different ways people want to feel: Comfy, Playful, Romantic, and Seductress. The range spans 44 sizes from 30B to 42DDD, with most pieces priced under $100.
The new campaign takes that framework somewhere unexpected. Sweeney posted a video on October 21 in which she channels a string of beloved holiday characters, moving through references to ‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York’, ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’, ‘White Christmas’ and ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’, each reinterpreted through the brand’s lingerie and loungewear.
The imagery leans theatrical. One standout shows her in a fiery red lace set with a present-style bow bra, a lace garter belt, and a sheer veil, framed as a literal gift-wrapped moment from the brand’s Romantic collection.
Another sequence goes the opposite direction entirely. A baby blue set paired with matching sheer gloves and thigh-high lace tights anchors the snowy segment, shot against an artificial winter backdrop.

The cozier end gets its due too. Channeling ‘Home Alone’, Sweeney lounges pantless in an oversized leather armchair eating ice cream, wearing a cream cable-knit sweater from the upcoming Comfy collection with knee-high socks.

The campaign isn’t a one-off post. SYRN teased it as a Holiday Special and confirmed that 4 holiday collections arrive on October 27, with Sweeney captioning the Instagram reveal by welcoming followers to the holiday shop.
That sequential structure has been the brand’s signature from day one. The original launch rolled out as 4 separate capsule drops, turning a single launch moment into weeks of press opportunities, with the debut Seductress collection selling out within hours.
SYRN is not a typical celebrity endorsement arrangement. Sweeney is the sole founder and creative lead, holding equity rather than collecting a fee, with backing from Coatue Management’s technology fund.

That fund carries serious names. Reporting indicated the family offices of Jeff Bezos and Michael Dell committed $1 billion of its initial capital, with Coatue partner Ben Schwerin also backing the brand.
Sweeney has framed the venture in personal terms. She said in a press release that she was in 6th grade with DDs and hated the bra she had to wear, adding that designing for different bodies is a huge part of SYRN.
She has also been explicit about the brand’s intent. Sweeney told Elle she wanted to build a lingerie brand that feels like it understands women instead of talking at them, describing it as being about confidence without pressure.
The holiday push arrives on the heels of controversy. Sweeney faced significant backlash over a nude campaign for sports betting app Novig, criticism she publicly mocked earlier this month.
Her launch tactics have courted attention before. The night before SYRN debuted, her team filmed promotional footage at the Hollywood Sign, draping lingerie over the letters, a stunt the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said it had not authorized.
Whatever one makes of the approach, it has worked commercially. The brand’s debut sold out in hours, and industry projections estimated first-year revenue around $20 million.
