Halle Berry Wanted to Cameo as Storm in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ But Ryan Reynolds Never Reached Out

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is the latest blockbuster success in the MCU, having surpassed $1 billion at the box office and rekindling fan enthusiasm for the franchise.

The film’s success is largely attributed to its fan service and the inclusion of memorable cameos from previous Fox X-Men films and other Marvel movies released before the MCU’s inception.

We’ve seen Garner’s Elektra, Evans’ Human Torch, Snipes’ Blade, and a host of other secondary characters like Pyro, Stick, Toad, Juggernaut, and Sabertooth—if you’ve watched the movie, you know the lineup. Fans had hoped to see some of the most iconic X-Men as well, with rumors swirling about possible appearances by Famke Janssen’s Jean Grey, James Marsden’s Scott Summers, and Halle Berry’s Storm. However, these appearances did not materialize.

It turns out that Halle Berry was interested in making a cameo in the film, but according to the actress, Ryan Reynolds never reached out to her.

“Blake [Lively] asked me one time, I ran into her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show, and she said, ‘Would you ever be in my husband’s movie as Storm?’ I said, ‘Yeah, if he asked me,’ but he never asked me.

Berry’s portrayal of Storm is one of the most iconic in X-Men history, so a cameo from her would have been a significant highlight. It’s puzzling that she wasn’t even approached, especially given that some lesser-known characters were included. No offense to Sticky Fingaz, but having him as Blade in the movie seems less important compared to having Storm. There could be complex reasons for this, including rumored issues related to Snipes’ alleged mistreatment of Berry.

It’s possible that Reynolds focused on giving secondary characters a chance to close out their storylines, as many of them had unresolved arcs in their original franchises.
