‘Harry Potter’ Rivals Reunite as Tom Felton Visits Daniel Radcliffe on Broadway After 24 Years
Nearly a quarter of a century after they first appeared on screen together, Tom Felton and Daniel Radcliffe shared a nostalgic reunion in New York City. The two actors, who famously played rivals Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter, proved their real-life bond is stronger than ever during a backstage visit on Thursday, March 5.
Felton, now 38, stopped by the Hudson Theatre to support Radcliffe, 36, at a performance of his solo Broadway show, Every Brilliant Thing. The meeting was captured in a heartwarming social media post where the pair can be seen locked in a friendly embrace, smiling for the camera.
The caption for the post, Broomsticks to Broadway, highlighted the unique parallel in their current careers. While Radcliffe is headlining his interactive solo play, Felton has recently stepped back into his most famous role, portraying an adult version of Draco Malfoy in the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
This latest visit is part of a long-standing tradition of mutual support between the two stars. Felton was previously spotted in the audience for Radcliffe’s 2018 turn in The Lifespan of a Fact and more recently attended a December 2025 screening of the filmed version of Merrily We Roll Along.
Radcliffe, who is widely considered a Broadway veteran, has been a source of guidance for Felton as he navigates his own debut on the New York stage. At the 2025 Tony Awards, Felton shared that his old school chum was essentially holding his hand and helping him through the steep learning curve of live theater.
The actor expressed his gratitude for the welcoming nature of the Broadway community and the graciousness of the fans. He noted that having a friend who understands the transition from massive film franchises to the stage has made the experience far more manageable and thrilling.
Radcliffe has built a prolific theater resume since his first Broadway appearance in the 2008 revival of Equus. His subsequent roles in high-profile productions like How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and The Cripple of Inishmaan have cemented his reputation as a versatile stage performer.
Both actors are keeping busy with their respective limited engagements, which are both scheduled to conclude in May. Radcliffe’s current show, Every Brilliant Thing, is a deeply personal piece that requires him to interact directly with the audience, a challenge he has reportedly embraced with great enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, Felton’s return as Draco Malfoy has been a major draw for fans at the Lyric Theatre, where he is the first original film cast member to join the stage production. He recently extended his run through May 10, noting that it feels like a full-circle moment to play the character at the exact age Draco is in the story.
Aside from their theater work, both have several film projects. Radcliffe is set to star in the Vietnam War thriller Trust the Man, while Felton has recently wrapped production on the action sci-fi film They Will Kill You.
Even as a new generation prepares to take on their iconic roles in the upcoming HBO television adaptation, the two remain focused on their current creative paths. Their enduring friendship serves as a reminder of the lasting impact of the franchise that first brought them together.
