Harry Styles Strips Down for ‘Runner’s World’ and Shows Off His Chiseled Physique
Harry Styles is hitting the pavement and the spotlight at the same time. The 32-year-old singer appears shirtless on the cover of the Spring 2026 issue of Runner’s World, showing off his toned abs and tattoos while stretching on a sunny street. The magazine unveiled the cover on March 3, and it captures Styles in cheetah-print shorts and Oakley sunglasses, looking effortlessly fit and focused.
In other photos from the shoot, Styles is seen taking an ice bath, wearing a vintage Donald Duck cap, and smiling for the camera. For the accompanying interview, Styles sat down with acclaimed author Haruki Murakami, whose book What I Talk About When I Talk About Running inspired him to start training for marathons.
“It freed me from the idea that music had to be an unhealthy profession and I had to be this tortured soul,” Styles told Murakami, 77. “Your point is that being healthy makes you able to be an artist for a long time, that you can be a structured, healthy person and make great work. So I have a lot of gratitude to you for that.”
Styles began running in his early 20s but did not run his first marathon until he was 31. He completed the Tokyo Marathon in March 2025 in three hours and 24 minutes and the Berlin Marathon later that year in an impressive two hours and 59 minutes. “Usually before every long run, I eat the biggest croissant I can find,” he admitted, joking about his pre-race routine. He also shared how he adjusted his hydration strategy in Berlin, relying more on electrolytes than water to avoid “peeing myself during the race.”

Even with all the running, Styles found time to enjoy Berlin’s nightlife. “Good electronic music is so good, you know — especially the melodic aspect,” he said. “When you’re out at night, it’s such a community, but you’re also watching people have such individual experiences.”
That feeling of losing himself in music inspired his fourth solo album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., which is set to release on March 6. Styles said he wanted the album to capture the energy of being immersed in music: “I wanted to recreate [what] I had on the dance floor, being lost in instrumentation and the musicality… I wanted it to feel like, ‘Oh, we’re in this music together. Like I’m in it with you.’”
Styles will take the album on the road with his Together, Together tour this spring and summer. The tour includes a 30-night residency at Madison Square Garden in New York City and 12 shows at Wembley Stadium in London.
In the interview, Styles admitted he initially didn’t plan to return to music so soon after finishing his 169-date Love on Tour in 2023. “Something I’ve often struggled with, in the middle of a tour, is feeling like I’m not sure what I’m giving, not sure what I’m adding to the world,” he reflected.
“Especially when the reward system and the kind of … adulation that you can receive feels so loud. Like clearly I’m getting so much from this… But what am I contributing? At times I felt quite existential about that.”
Running and music helped him find balance. “When I started listening to more electronic music, the shift felt just very hypnotic, like, ‘Oh, I’m really lost in this thing,’” he said. “It was helpful to my running to get to that place where I felt like I was meditating right there. It makes the time go by in such a different way.”
Styles’ cover shoot and candid interview for Runner’s World show a different side of the star: disciplined, reflective, and ready to push both his body and his music to new limits.
