Hayden Christensen Hints at More Darth Vader Stories After ‘Revenge of the Sith’

Hayden Christensen is excited about the future of Darth Vader. He recently shared some interesting news at Star Wars Celebration Japan. As we approach the 20th anniversary of Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Christensen confirmed that Anakin will return in Ahsoka Season 2.

There’s not much that I can share, but Anakin will be back for season 2,” Christensen said during a panel. He last appeared in Season 1 of Ahsoka, where he showed up as a Force ghost in the mystical World Between Worlds. This moment was an emotional reunion between Anakin and his former student Ahsoka Tano (played by Rosario Dawson), taking place five years after his redemption and death in Return of the Jedi.

While fans are eager to see what’s next for Anakin and Ahsoka in Season 2, Christensen also hopes to return to the role of Darth Vader in other stories—especially ones set after Revenge of the Sith.

“There’s a lot that we could still explore with Vader,” Christensen said. “I think from where we left off, after Episode III, and everything that he has to reconcile after he’s trapped in this new version of himself, there’s just a lot of very rich stories that we could still tell.”

Christensen already put the suit back on in Obi-Wan Kenobi, a six-episode series where he faced off once again with Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan. That show took place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, a time that has also been explored in animated shows like Star Wars Rebels and in comic books.

I love the character, and I’d love to get to continue with it,” Christensen said. “And so hopefully we’ll get to do more of it.”

Fans would no doubt be thrilled to see more of Vader’s story, especially with Christensen back in the role. Whether it’s in Ahsoka, a new series, or even another movie, the dark side might still have more to show us.
