Hayden Christensen is eager to dive back into the Star Wars universe, and he’s got big ideas for where his iconic character could go next. At Fan Expo Boston, as reported by ScreenRant, the actor shared his excitement about playing both Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader again, hinting at some exciting eras he’d love to explore.

Whether it’s swinging a lightsaber in the Clone Wars or stalking the galaxy as the fearsome Sith Lord, Christensen is all in for more. The Clone Wars is a period Christensen is particularly pumped about. He wants to bring Anakin’s wartime adventures to life in live-action, showing off the Jedi Knight’s leadership and struggles.

I’d love to get to do some more Clone Wars-era Anakin, too. I think there are some fun stories there to tell,” he said. “And if it meant I got to swing a lightsaber with Ewan [McGregor] again, that would be amazing.”

Fans got a taste of this era in the animated Clone Wars series, but seeing Christensen alongside Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ariana Greenblatt’s young Ahsoka Tano in live-action could add a fresh spin to the character.

Christensen is just as hyped to explore Darth Vader’s darker days. He sees a lot of potential in diving into the Sith Lord’s story, especially in the years between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. “I’d love to get to do some more stuff in the Darth Vader timeline… I think there’s some good, meaty stuff there to explore still,” he told the crowd. “If the powers that be decided a Vader spin-off is something they want to see, I’d be there in a heartbeat. 100%. I would love to. It would be amazing to keep exploring this character in both eras.”

A Vader-focused show could shine a light on his inner turmoil and secret missions, giving fans a deeper look at the character. He’s also keen on reprising Anakin as a Force Ghost, like in the Ahsoka Season 1 finale. “…all of it would be good fun for me,” Christensen added, showing he’s open to any chance to return.

With Star Wars growing on Disney+, the door’s wide open for more of his story. Whether he’s wielding a lightsaber or the dark side, Christensen’s ready to jump back in whenever Lucasfilm gives him the call.
