Henry Cavill is back in action, teaming up once again with director Guy Ritchie for a high-stakes thriller titled In The Grey. The movie, which also stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Eiza Gonzalez, is set to hit theaters on May 15.

“In The Grey follows a covert team of elite operatives who live in the global shadows, as comfortable wielding power and influence as they are with automatic weapons and high explosives. When a ruthless despot steals a billion-dollar fortune, the team is sent to steal it back on what would be, for anyone else, a suicide mission. What begins as an impossible heist gets much worse, spiraling into an all-out war of strategy, deception, and survival,” the synopsis reads.

Cavill, best known for his darker take on Superman in Zack Snyder’s DCEU, has kept busy with new projects since leaving the cape behind. In 2024, he appeared in Argylle, an Apple TV spy thriller that struggled at the box office, and made a surprising MCU debut as a variant of Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine, which grossed over $1 billion worldwide. He also starred in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, a World War II action movie directed by Ritchie and co-starring Alan Ritchson.

Fans of Cavill and Ritchie will remember their first collaboration in The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and In The Grey marks a reunion that promises thrilling action and clever storytelling. The film’s plot centers on a daring heist against a powerful villain, blending strategy, firepower, and high tension.

Meanwhile, Ritchie’s latest project, the Sherlock Holmes prequel series Young Sherlock, has been a hit on Prime Video. All eight episodes are now available, and the series quickly rose to the top of the streaming charts. Prime Video has not yet announced whether it will be renewed, but early performance suggests it has a strong chance.

Cavill’s fans are eager to see him in In The Grey, especially after his varied roles in action and superhero films over the past few years. The trailer sets the tone for an intense, suspense-filled adventure that could be one of his biggest releases in 2026.
