One of Henry’s standout roles lately has been as Superman in the DCEU. Despite the mixed reviews of the films, Cavill’s portrayal of the Man of Steel was generally well-received. His hinted appearance in ‘Black Adam’ suggested a growing presence for him in the DCEU, with Cavill reportedly preparing to continue as Superman in upcoming movies. There were even rumors that he turned down a role in Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ for more seasons, although it was later clarified that he left due to disagreements with the writers and showrunners.

However, things took a surprising turn when it was announced that the DCEU would undergo a complete reboot, and Cavill would likely not return as Superman, as the studio aimed for a younger cast. Instead, Cavill was confirmed for projects like the untitled ‘Warhammer’ project and the ‘Highlander’ reboot. More recently, Cavill has expressed interest in portraying Captain Britain in the MCU.

Following numerous rumors, sources close to Giant Freaking Robot have allegedly confirmed that Henry Cavill has been cast as a mysterious X-Men character in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’. Cavill is set to portray a variant of Wolverine in the movie. However, this is said to be a one-time appearance, and Cavill will not return to the MCU as Wolverine. Nonetheless, there’s a possibility he might appear as a different character due to the Multiversal nature of the film.

This confirmation resolves weeks of speculation among fans, who had debated whether Cavill’s role would be Wolverine or Cyclops. Now, we have our answer – sort of.
