Disney+ has a busy stretch from Monday August 18 through Sunday August 24 with a mix of gritty real world action, preschool favorites and a high speed feature. This week brings a Norwegian roadside rescue series on Wednesday, Hundred Acre Wood fun on Thursday and a big new thriller on Friday, plus a new Turkish original and a return to Atlantica for little mermaid fans.

The National Geographic series follows tow boss Thord Paulsen and his crew as they clear wrecks and recover heavy vehicles on treacherous mountain roads across Norway. The show is narrated by David Wartnaby and frequently features Bjørn Lægreid and Jo Roger Blengsli on major jobs. New episodes land on Wednesday August 20 this week.

Produced by ITV Studios Norway, the long running docuseries chronicles winter operations with winches, rotators and snowbound convoys from the south to the Arctic north. Credits across seasons include producer Mark Francis, writer Patrick Strøm and composer Raymond Enoksen, with filming that captures narrow passes, black ice and whiteout conditions.

The Turkish original tells the story of Deniz and Güneş who reconnect by chance months after ending their relationship, then receive a mysterious phone message that sends them on a journey through old feelings and unanswered questions. Hande Erçel plays Güneş and Barış Arduç plays Deniz, and the series begins its run on Wednesday August 20.

Created and directed by Özgür Önurme with the original story by Ahmet Vatan, the eight episode drama is produced by O3 Medya with producer Saner Ayar. Supporting roles include Sezin Akbaşoğulları, Başak Gümülcinelioğlu, Begüm Akkaya, Feyyaz Şerifoğlu and Melis Minkari, with filming locations in Istanbul and Cappadocia.

This preschool series of short episodes invites kids to hang out with Pooh and friends as they share simple activities, singalongs and gentle lessons from the Hundred Acre Wood. Voices include Leon Chen as Winnie the Pooh, Gracen Newton as Tigger, Callum Vinson as Piglet and Dylan Alvarado as Eeyore, and new shorts arrive on Thursday August 21.

Developed at Disney Television Animation, the series is directed by Jojo Ramos Patrick and produced by Greg Chalekian with executive producer Chris Hamilton and co executive producer Elise Fachon. The format follows a vlog style presentation similar to other Disney Junior companion shorts, with additional cast such as Arwen Monzon Sanders and Emma Zavaleta appearing across the run.

The thriller follows a former teenage getaway driver who is pulled back into the life when a former boss offers one chance to save her unreliable ex boyfriend. Samara Weaving leads the cast with Karl Glusman, Jermaine Fowler, Marshawn Lynch, Randall Park, Steve Zahn and Andy García, and the film arrives on Friday August 22.

Writer director Shawn Simmons makes his feature debut with producers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and cinematography by Tim Ives. The score is by Bobby Krlic, and the production completed principal photography in Ohio with set pieces that lean on automotive stunts and heist mechanics.

Set in the Caribbean inspired underwater kingdom of Atlantica, this animated musical series follows young Ariel as she explores with friends and collects treasures that often help solve problems. The main cast features Mykal Michelle Harris as Ariel, Taye Diggs as King Triton and Amber Riley as Ursula, and new episodes arrive on Friday August 22.

Produced by Wild Canary Animation, the series is executive produced by Lynne Southerland with Ezra Edmond as producer and Kuni Tomita Bowen as supervising director. Additional voices include Kevin Michael Richardson as Sebastian, Gracen Newton as Flounder, Elizabeth Phoenix Caro as Lucia and Cruz Flateau as Fernie, with music direction that draws on Caribbean rhythms and instruments.
