The first full week of September (Monday, September 1–Sunday, September 7, 2025) is small but mighty on the streaming front, with a family favorite making its live-action debut, a bite-sized batch of Disney Channel shorts cruising onto Disney+, and a star-powered thriller landing on Apple TV+. Below, you’ll find everything arriving during the week, organized by title with quick, factual rundowns of what each project is and who’s involved.

Disney+ brings new episodes from the preschool hit ‘Minnie’s Bow-Toons: Pet Hotel’, the live-action ‘Lilo & Stitch’ film on Wednesday, and a compilation rollout of ‘Road Trip: Shorts’ to kick off the weekend. Apple TV+ closes things out Friday with Spike Lee’s ‘Highest 2 Lowest’. Read on for dates, plots, and key cast and crew details.

Disney Television Animation

New episodes of ‘Minnie’s Bow-Toons: Pet Hotel’ stream on Disney+ on Tuesday, September 2. The short-form series follows Minnie and Daisy as they run a playful, pamper-centric pet hotel with help from Clarabelle and Cuckoo-Loca, continuing the long-running ‘Minnie’s Bow-Toons’ franchise in quick, three-minute adventures designed for preschoolers. The current chapter began in May 2025 with a Disney Junior premiere and rolls onto Disney+ shortly after broadcast.

Produced by Disney Television Animation, this run is steered by producers Tom Rogers and Rachel Ruderman (who previously worked on ‘Minnie’s Bow-Toons: Camp Minnie’), with the core voice cast led by Kaitlyn Robrock as Minnie Mouse, Tress MacNeille as Daisy Duck, Nika Futterman as Cuckoo-Loca, and April Winchell as Clarabelle Cow. Early episodes this year included animal-party romps like “Happy Barkday” and “Puppy Pool Party,” with more pet-centric hijinks arriving weekly.

‘Lilo & Stitch’ (2025)

Walt Disney Pictures

Disney’s live-action ‘Lilo & Stitch’ lands on Disney+ on Wednesday, September 3. The film tells the story of Lilo, a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a crash-landed alien (a.k.a. Stitch) and finds her family pulled back together through chaos, comedy, and a whole lot of heart. Dean Fleischer Camp directs, with Chris Sanders returning to voice Stitch, Maia Kealoha as Lilo, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong as Nani, Zach Galifianakis as Dr. Jumba Jookiba, Billy Magnussen as Pleakley, and Courtney B. Vance as Cobra Bubbles.

Behind the scenes, the screenplay is by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes, with Jonathan Eirich and Dan Lin producing and veteran franchise artists Eric Guaglione and Alex Kupershmidt contributing. The film premiered in theaters earlier this year and now makes its streaming debut as one of Disney+’s headline releases for September.

‘Road Trip’ (2020)

‘Road Trip: Shorts’ arrives on Disney+ on Friday, September 5. This short-form, interstitial series strings together one-minute comedic vignettes featuring characters from across Disney Television Animation—think quick, connected pit stops with fan-favorite families from shows like ‘Big City Greens’, ‘Hailey’s On It!’, ‘Primos’, ‘Hamster & Gretel’, and more—originally launched on Disney’s YouTube and TV platforms.

Developed by Disney Television Animation’s multiplatform team, the shorts are engineered so each piece stands alone but can also be “stitched” into a longer narrative arc; the Disney+ drop collects the first season for easy streaming. The segments feature the original series voice ensembles reprising their roles, bringing the same tone and timing fans know from the parent shows into fast-moving, road-trip chaos.

A24

Streaming on Apple TV+ Friday, September 5, ‘Highest 2 Lowest’ is a modern, New York-set reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 thriller ‘High and Low’. Denzel Washington plays David King, a powerhouse music mogul thrust into a ransom crisis that forces impossible choices; Jeffrey Wright co-stars as Paul Christopher, with A$AP Rocky, Ilfenesh Hadera, John Douglas Thompson, Dean Winters, Aubrey Joseph, and more rounding out the ensemble. The film runs 2 hours and 13 minutes.

Directed by Spike Lee and written by Alan Fox, the production is from A24 and Apple Original Films alongside partners including Escape Artists, Mandalay Pictures, and 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks. After a limited theatrical rollout in August, Apple TV+ becomes the global streaming home on September 5.
