The live-action Legend of Zelda movie is moving forward, and there is finally a clearer look at one of its most important characters. A new behind-the-scenes image has been shared, showing Link in full costume. This update also confirms that filming has officially ended.

The image was posted by cinematographer Gyula Pados on Instagram. He shared a photo of the clapperboard along with a look at Link’s full outfit. This is the most detailed look fans have gotten so far, and it quickly started getting attention online.

Even though the image is simple, it has created a lot of discussion. Fans are focused on Link’s classic green tunic, which has been a big part of the character for years. While newer games like Breath of the Wild changed his outfit, many people still connect Link with his original look. The green tunic, cap, sword, and shield are what most fans expect to see.

Nintendo first confirmed the movie back in late 2023. The film is directed by Wes Ball and stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Zelda. The story follows Link as he goes on a dangerous journey to protect Hyrule from Ganon.

Filming began in November 2025 in Wellington, New Zealand, and wrapped in April. Before this latest reveal, Nintendo had already shared a small preview in November 2025. But this new image gives a much better look at the costume design.

The outfit seems to take inspiration from Twilight Princess. It includes a detailed tunic, a light undershirt, fingerless gloves, and brown straps across the body. The design shows that the movie is trying to stay close to the original version of the character.

Fans are reacting in different ways. Many are happy with how accurate the costume looks. Others are still unsure about some choices, like Link speaking in the movie. Still, the overall reaction to the visual style has been mostly positive.

The Legend of Zelda movie is set to release in May 2027. With filming now complete and a full look at Link finally revealed, interest in the movie is only growing.
