Hilary Duff Celebrates Her Pop Comeback With an Intimate Grammy Museum Evening
Hilary Duff’s return to music has turned into one of the year’s most satisfying pop comebacks, and the Grammy Museum just gave it a fitting celebration. The former ‘Lizzie McGuire’ star’s sixth studio album, ‘luck… or something’, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, marking her highest chart position since 2007.
The project has been a hit well beyond the US too. According to the Grammy Museum, it scored Top 5 debuts in 6 countries, including No. 1 in Canada and Australia, and was named one of the best albums of 2026 by Billboard, Rolling Stone, and Variety.
On Wednesday, September 23, Duff headlined ‘An Evening With Hilary Duff’ on the Grammy Museum’s Ray Charles Rooftop Terrace in Los Angeles. She wore her long blonde hair in loose, tousled waves and kept her accessories minimal, letting the ethereal dress stand out. The event itself was designed to feel personal. BroadwayWorld reported that the evening featured a candid Q&A moderated by Lyndsey Havens, where Duff opened up about her creative process, her return to pop music, and the response to the new album.
The museum billed the night as a special, intimate, stripped-back performance alongside Duff’s closest album collaborators. Guests could take in rooftop views and visit a café and cash bar before the program, and the organizers made it a phone-free experience.
That approach suited a record rooted in collaboration and family. ‘luck… or something’ was co-written by Duff and produced by her husband, Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Matthew Koma, along with Brian Phillips.

Beyond its Billboard 200 debut, the album became Duff’s sixth career Top 5 entry and landed at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart, according to the Grammy Museum. At the time of its release, it was also the second-largest debut for a female artist this year. Duff didn’t stop there. Following the album, she surprised fans with ‘(Mine)’, a 7-song EP featuring newly re-recorded versions of her greatest hits.

The Grammy Museum event arrives as Duff gears up for her first major tour in more than 18 years. ‘The Lucky Me Tour’ spans 7 countries, with dates across the US, Canada, Mexico, the UK, Ireland, and beyond.
Upcoming stops include Spark Arena in Auckland on October 20, followed by shows at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on January 22 and 23, 2027, and the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary on January 26, 2027.

Duff first became a household name as the title character of ‘Lizzie McGuire’ from 2001 to 2004, later starring in films like ‘Agent Cody Banks’, ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’, and ‘A Cinderella Story’. Decades later, she’s proving she can still connect with fans, both old and new, on her own terms.
