Holiday Ever After Trailer Finally Lets Lacey Chabert Find Love Inside the Most Magical Place on Earth
Christmas in July has officially begun for Hallmark fans, and this year the network is leaning into something bigger than its usual small town backdrops. Hallmark Channel is marking America’s 250th birthday with the first of four new movies celebrating Christmas in July, and the one everyone is talking about takes its holiday romance formula somewhere entirely new.
That would be ‘Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True’, a project that has been building buzz since it was first announced late last year. The film marks the first ever collaboration between Disney and Hallmark Channel, and Ryan Landels wrote the script and is directing.
Journalist Scott Gustin broke the news on X that Hallmark had released the first trailer for the film, describing it as a new Christmas movie set at Walt Disney World where Disney wishes and holiday magic come together. The footage shows Cinderella Castle dressed for the holidays and crowds moving down a wreath lined Main Street, giving fans their first real look at the production.
The film follows Lindsey, played by Lacey Chabert, and Philip, played by Travis Van Winkle, whose families cross paths at Disney World during Christmas, leading to a potential romance sparked by Disney magic. Lindsey discovers her room is next door to Philip, a disastrous first date she recently had, who is also there on a family trip, and as their paths keep crossing throughout their stay, the frost starts to thaw as they learn they are not so different from each other after all.
The cast around Chabert and Van Winkle is stacked for a Hallmark production. Richard Kind, Christy Carlson Romano, Bryce Dufee, Taegen Burns, and Asher Alexander round out the main lineup, with Patrick Renna making a cameo appearance. Kind plays Lindsey’s father, while Christy Carlson Romano plays her sister, who at one point jokes that Philip might just be the Beast to Lindsey’s Belle.
Confirmed filming locations include Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, where the neighboring room storyline plays out, and the Cinderella Fountain at Magic Kingdom becomes a literal plot device, since it is where Lindsey makes the wish that sets the whole romance in motion. Production wrapped back in February, with the trailer showing snow effects, festive decor, and plenty of park magic layered into the love story.
Executives from both companies have framed the partnership as something rooted in history rather than a one off marketing stunt. Darren Abbott, Hallmark’s Chief Brand Officer, said the partnership between Hallmark and Disney dates back decades, tracing to a shared Kansas City connection between Hallmark founder J.C. Hall and Walt Disney himself, and called this new film a way to expand that relationship onto the screen, according to the Disney Parks Blog. Disney’s own Sally Conner echoed that sentiment, noting the immersive setting was a natural fit for the season’s storytelling.
No official release date has been announced yet, though the film is set to premiere as part of Hallmark Channel’s 17th annual Countdown to Christmas. With a cast this loaded and a setting this ambitious, ‘Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True’ already looks poised to be one of the network’s biggest holiday releases in years.
Would you make a wish at Cinderella Fountain if you thought it might turn a bad blind date into your own holiday romance?
