Netflix added both seasons of NOS4A2 on October 29, giving horror fans a chance to dive into the dark, twisted world of Joe Hill’s 2013 novel.

The series originally aired on AMC from 2019 to 2020 and tells the story of Charlie Manx, played by Zachary Quinto, a sinister “different kind of vampire” who feeds on the souls of children.

Manx traps his victims in Christmasland, a nightmarish world where every day is Christmas, and unhappiness is forbidden.

He faces his match in Vic McQueen, a young artist with a supernatural ability to find lost things, setting up a high-stakes battle between good and evil. The show also stars Ashleigh Cummings, Jahkara Smith, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Virginia Kull, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

NOS4A2 ran for two seasons before AMC canceled it in 2020 after completing the story from Hill’s novel. Critics were mixed on the series. Rotten Tomatoes gave the first season a 69% approval rating, noting that while the show sometimes struggled to build atmosphere, it captured the spirit of Hill’s work and gave Quinto a chilling villain to play. The second season scored slightly higher at 75%, though with fewer reviews. Metacritic rated the first season 47 out of 100, indicating average reviews.

If you’re looking for a horror show that mixes supernatural powers, dark imagination, and creepy suspense, NOS4A2 is worth checking out. It’s perfect for fans who like their horror psychological, unsettling, and a little twisted.
