Hot Toys’ Doctor Doom vs. Fantastic Four Showdown Is the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Collectible Fans Have Been Waiting For

Few rivalries in comics run as deep as Doctor Doom and the Fantastic Four. Doom first appeared in Fantastic Four #5 back in 1962 and has long been considered the team’s archenemy. Now, a new Hot Toys Doctor Doom vs. Fantastic Four display is bringing that legendary feud to life ahead of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.

The timing is fitting. Robert Downey Jr. is set to play Doom in both ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, and Marvel’s First Family is expected to play a major role in the conflict.

That makes a head-to-head showdown between Doom and Reed Richards’ team one of the most anticipated matchups of the film. On October 2, MCU Film News shared what it called the first look at Hot Toys’ Doctor Doom vs. The Fantastic Four figures for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.

The display is dramatic from top to bottom. Doom looms overhead in his dark green hood and billowing cloak, unleashing swirling green magical energy as the Fantastic Four push back from below. The team is posed mid-battle in their blue suits.

The Thing’s rocky orange head is visible near the center, Mister Fantastic stretches an arm upward toward Doom, and the Invisible Woman raises her hands, all perched on a base of debris and smoke that adds to the sense of chaos. Details on pricing and release have not yet been confirmed, but the image alone has collectors buzzing.

This new showcase joins an already impressive ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ collection. Hot Toys’ standard Doctor Doom figure features a newly crafted masked head with separated rolling eyeballs, 30 points of articulation, and stands approximately 31 cm tall, according to Gizmodo.

There are several versions for dedicated fans. The Special Edition includes a commemorative life-size metal ring, while the Ultimate Version features a Sentinel’s hand-themed LED light-up diorama base and a mystery accessory for $390. Doom’s Throne, with its gold runic details and green stained-glass backdrop, costs another $210.

Hot Toys has also revealed a second figure called Victor Von Doom, showcasing the villain’s second mask. That look appears to match what he wore in ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ mid-credits scene.

Doom isn’t the only character getting the premium treatment. Magneto, Cyclops, and Gambit are already available for pre-order alongside Doom and his throne, while fans can sign up for updates on Professor X, Beast, and the Sentinel.

The Fantastic Four’s inclusion adds another layer to the lineup. Earlier footage showed Sam Wilson’s Captain America meeting the Fantastic Four at Avengers Tower, and Marvel has teased the Baxter Building as one of the key locations in the film.

All of this is building toward the film’s December 18 release. With Doom positioned as the central threat to the multiverse, a clash with the Fantastic Four feels like a natural highlight.

If this display is any indication, Marvel’s First Family is in for the fight of their lives. For collectors, it might also be one of the most eye-catching pieces in the entire ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ range.
