K-pop group HUNTR/X made their first appearance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the crowd in New York got a lively show. The singers behind the animated trio, Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, performed their hit song Golden live while dressed in warm outfits inspired by their characters.

HUNTR/X, also known as Kpop Demon Hunters, is a fictional girl group in the animated project Kpop: Demon Hunters. The characters fight demons while also working as idols, which gives the group its playful style.

The real-life singers bring the characters to life through music, with Ejae voicing Rumi, Audrey Nuna voicing one of the leads, and Rei Ami voicing another member. Their song Golden reached number one and became a standout track for fans of both K-pop and animation.

During their performance, each singer wore a look that nodded to her character. Ejae wore a bright purple headband like Rumi. Audrey Nuna had two loose front pieces framing her face. Rei Ami used earmuffs that matched her character’s signature hair buns. The snow-ready snowsuits kept them warm, but they still moved easily onstage.

When the music picked up, a burst of confetti shot across the float. For a moment, the crowd could barely see the group through the flying paper. Some fans joked that the confetti might have been part of a cover so they could sneak off to “hunt demons,” just like the characters they play.
