The franchise is centered on The Herd going through exciting, dangerous, but also very comedic adventures. Ellie the Mammoth and Crash & Eddie, the opossum brothers, joined the herd in the first sequel – The Meltdown – with more and more animals joining the squad with each new movie.
Buckminster, also known as Buck, is a weasel who joined the franchise in the third movie – Dawn of the Dinosaurs – and later returned in the fifth movie – Collision Course. He lived in the underground Dinosaur World which was the center of the third movie. And now he’s back for more.
Ice Age is one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time, with over $6 billion in revenue. Except for the movies, Ice Age also consists of TV specials, toys, video games and other merchandise.
