Infinity War, a video game development company best known for creating the long-term Call of Duty video game series, now officially revealed the first reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, which serves as the sequel to 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which was a reboot to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare trilogy that Infinity Ward developed between 2007 and 2011.
Without further ado, check the trailer down below. The trailer is promising us the Call of Duty game at its finest, and looks like we’ll get the best graphic-looking Call of Duty to date!
Back in 2007, Infinity Ward released Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which was the first game of the franchise set in modern times. The game was a huge success and it redefined the FPS genre and the Call of Duty franchise as such. In 2009, the sequel Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released, and it was also a huge success, followed by the conclusion of the trilogy in 2011 with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
After that, Infinity Ward developed Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, but those games didn’t manage to achieve the success of the original MW trilogy, which is why Infinity Ward decided to go back and make a reboot of their most known trilogy. The ending of 2019’s reboot suggested the assembling of Task Force 141 in the sequel, and the team will feature some of the best-known Call of Duty characters, including Captain Price, Gaz, Ghost, Soap MacTavish, and one newcomer, Colonel Alejandro Vargas.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was released in 2019 and it was a huge success. The game featured some of the already known characters like Captain Price, but it had no connection to the original MW trilogy. Now, three years later, after Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: Vanguard, Infinity Ward is set to release the anticipated sequel of the reboot. I hope you can follow all this.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be released on October 28, 2022, for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders are available now!
