Jean Grey’s Return in ‘X-Men ’97’ Season 2
‘X-Men ’97’ was renewed for a third season during an announcement at New York Comic Con, with season two arriving in summer 2026. In the season one finale, Cyclops and Jean Grey were left stranded in the year 3960 A.D., while other team members were scattered across different points in history.
Jennifer Hale voices Jean Grey, as well as her clone Madelyne Pryor and the Goblin Queen, having previously voiced the character in ‘Wolverine and the X-Men.’ Jean Grey’s next confirmed appearance is in ‘X-Men ’97’ season two, and Marvel Studios has already revealed a new costume for the character reflecting the show’s shift into a darker, more serious era.
The costume closely resembles the one Jean wore during the New X-Men comic run written by Grant Morrison in 2001, shown in the trailer alongside Cyclops in matching yellow and black jackets. Part of season two is expected to draw from the 1994 miniseries The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix, following Scott and Jean in the future alongside Nathan, Mother Askani, and Apocalypse.
