South Korean star Nana and her mother stopped a man who broke into their home, according to reports from local media.

Police say the intruder was in his 30s and came into their house in Guri with a weapon. He reportedly threatened both women and tried to steal valuables.

Nana’s agency told South Korean outlets that the singer and actor, whose real name is Im Jin-ah, managed to hold the man down with her mother until officers arrived. During the struggle, her mother fainted and later needed medical care. Yonhap reported that Nana also received treatment. The intruder was taken to the hospital as well.

A local detective told AFP that the man has been detained on charges of aggravated robbery. Local media said he demanded money after entering the home, but the two women were able to call the police once they overpowered him.

Nana first became famous in 2009 as part of the K-pop group After School. The group no longer performs, but she has built a strong acting career with roles in several shows, including crime dramas like Kill It and Justice, which both aired in 2019.
