‘Iroheart’ Hits Streaming Milestone ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Couldn’t Reach
Disney+’s Ironheart is making a big splash in the streaming world, hitting numbers that Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again never managed to reach during its entire first season. For the week of June 23, Ironheart earned 526 million minutes viewed across its three available episodes and landed a spot in the Top 10 streaming originals, debuting at number six on the Nielsen Streaming Chart.

The show is a Marvel miniseries created by Chinaka Hodge, based on the comic character Riri Williams. It is the 14th TV series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and keeps the same story world as the Marvel movies.
The plot follows Riri, an MIT student who returns home to Chicago after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She discovers secrets that blend technology with magic. Hodge serves as the head writer of the series.
Dominique Thorne stars as Riri Williams, also known as Ironheart, reprising her role from Wakanda Forever. She is joined by Lyric Ross, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam, and several others. The show was first announced in December 2020, with filming starting in June 2022 in Atlanta before moving to Chicago and wrapping up in November. Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes directed the series.
Different companies that track streaming data show just how popular Ironheart has become. Whip Media, which gathers data from its TV Time app users, reported the show as the third most-streamed original series in the U.S. for the week ending June 29. TVision, which measures how many people watch and engage with shows on connected TVs, said it was the second most-streamed show from June 23 to 29. Another tracking service, JustWatch, placed Ironheart as the fifth most-streamed series in the U.S. from June 30 to July 6.
The critics’ response has been mostly positive but mixed. Rotten Tomatoes shows a 76% approval rating from 117 reviews, with the site’s critics saying, “Dominique Thorne ignites the MCU skies with charisma and confidence to boot, making Ironheart a worthy watch despite its conventional genre armor.” Meanwhile, Metacritic gives the series a score of 57 out of 100 based on 23 reviews, signaling mixed or average feelings.
Overall, Ironheart is proving to be a strong new entry in the Marvel TV lineup. It’s attracting a lot of viewers and stirring up excitement among fans.
