‘Ironheart’ Star Dominique Thorne Seeks Showdown with RDJ’s Doctor Doom, Plus Another Villain Hopes for a Team-Up

The MCU has a packed lineup of upcoming projects, including the TV series Ironheart, which centers on Riri Williams/Ironheart as she steps into Tony Stark’s shoes as a suited superhero.

Dominique Thorne stars as Riri Williams/Ironheart, a brilliant MIT student who builds a suit to rival Iron Man’s. Anthony Ramos plays Parker Robbins/The Hood, a complex ally of Riri who wields dark arts and magic. The cast also features Alden Ehrenreich as Joe McGillicuddy, Lyric Ross as Riri’s best friend Natalie, and Anji White as Riri’s mother. Additionally, Shea Couleé, Jim Rash (returning as the Dean of MIT), and Sacha Baron Cohen will appear in undisclosed roles.

The show is described as blending technology with the supernatural, and the premise is certainly intriguing. Ironheart is set to debut on Disney+ in 2025 as part of Phase Five of the MCU, and as the release date approaches, more details about the show and its characters are emerging.

Recently, the cast spoke with Rotten Tomatoes and shared their thoughts on the MCU. Dominique Thorne expressed her eagerness to battle Doctor Doom, while Anthony Ramos revealed his interest in teaming up with the iconic villain.

Thorne: I mean who wouldn’t, right? I think that’s again, like, one of the greatest things about the MCU, is that right when you think, “oh we’ve seen it all,” there is indeed more. And not only is there more, but it’s more with so much depth to it. And so I know everybody, like, we were all already beside ourselves thinking about what that even looks like. And so of course, I mean, I think we probably all do.
