Denis Villeneuve’s Dune is one of the most-awaited movies of this year. So much awaited that fans are already wondering if the sequel is on the way considering Villeneuve already said that he couldn’t fit the whole source novel into one movie. The movie is even titled onscreen as Dune: Part One. So, when is Part Two coming? Or is it coming at all?

Although it was planned to adapt the novel with a two-part adaptation, the sequel still isn’t officially greenlit. But, in an recent interview, Ann Sarnoff, CEO of Warner Bros. said:

“Will we have a sequel to Dune? If you watch the movie you see how it ends. I think you pretty much know the answer to that.”

Typical vague answer. But considering Villeneuve already said he just did half of the novel, looks like it’s only a matter of time before the sequel gets the official announcement.

Directed by Villeneuve, Dune stars Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Stellan Skarsgård, David Dastmalchian, Chang Chen, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, Javier Bardem, and Jason Momoa.
