Jackie Chan has revealed that a scene from his 1998 film Who Am I? scared him more than almost anything else he’s done in his long career.

The action star told reporters that filming one stunt had him trembling as he faced a life-or-death challenge on set.

Chan spent several days on a rooftop, 20 stories above the ground, psyching himself up for a jump. The stunt involved sliding face-first down a 45-degree glass wall while attached to hidden cables.

Who Am I? is a Hong Kong spy action comedy directed by Jackie Chan and Benny Chan. Jackie also co-wrote the film with Susan Chan and Lee Reynolds.

Released in Hong Kong on January 17, 1998, the movie was Chan’s second English-language project, following Mr. Nice Guy.

The story takes place in the jungles of South Africa in 1996, where a multinational military unit, the Special Force Unit, kidnaps several scientists who are working on a dangerous compound from a meteorite.

Chan plays a Hong Kong national who becomes caught up in the events. Meanwhile, the CIA investigates the abduction, unaware that one of their own and a retired general are behind it for personal gain.
