Jacob Elordi recently turned an ordinary flight into an unforgettable experience for two lucky travelers. The actor, who is currently starring as Heathcliff in Emerald Fennell’s acclaimed adaptation of Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights, proved to be exceptionally generous while commuting on a commercial Qantas flight on Tuesday, March 3.

The interaction began when Patricia Albassit, a fan traveling on the same plane, noticed the actor settling into his seat. She recounted to Newsweek that she initially struggled to believe it was really him, noting, I kind of looked at him, and I was like, is that Jacob? I’m like, I know that guy, but what are the chances?

After working up the courage to approach him during the descent, Albassit jokingly mentioned she was having a difficult day but asked for a photo. Elordi reportedly responded with humor, quipping, I’ll take a photo if you give me your Birkin, leading to a lighthearted exchange between the two.

When Albassit apologized for her appearance, noting it was the one day she chose to forgo makeup, Elordi insisted that she was beautiful and happily posed for the picture. The true surprise came after the flight landed.

Elordi asked Albassit to wait in the terminal, where he quickly ran to an airport store and returned with two copies of Wuthering Heights. He personally inscribed the novels for Albassit and her companion, with his message to her reading, Dear Patricia, I hope the sun comes out for you today. Love Heathcliff.

The gesture left a lasting impression on Albassit, who later took to TikTok to praise the actor as the sweetest human. The viral post quickly amassed thousands of views, with fans flooding the comments to express their own mix of admiration and playful jealousy over the encounter.

Elordi’s recent work in Wuthering Heights, which premiered in theaters this past Valentine’s Day, has solidified his status as a premier leading man. His performance, alongside Margot Robbie as Catherine Earnshaw, has been a significant cultural talking point throughout the year.

The film explores the dark, obsessive nature of the Brontë classic through the unique lens of director Emerald Fennell, following their previous collaboration on the hit film Saltburn. Beyond his latest romantic drama, Elordi is currently riding a wave of major professional success.

He recently earned his first-ever Academy Award nomination for his transformative performance as The Creature in Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of Frankenstein. His versatility continues to be a highlight of his career, with critics praising his ability to transition seamlessly between brooding period dramas and complex, modern character studies.

Looking ahead, industry speculation is swirling regarding his potential involvement in future high-profile projects, including rumors linking him to the James Bond franchise. Having been named Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor, the Australian actor remains one of the most sought-after stars in the business.
