Jaden Smith (27) Reunites with Legend Jackie Chan (72) 16 Years After ‘Karate Kid’
Jaden Smith recently made fans smile after sharing a new photo with Jackie Chan, calling him a “legend” and celebrating his birthday.
The moment was shared on Instagram, which is the main source of the story. In the post, Jaden uploaded a recent picture of the two together. He wore a loose outfit and a large cap, while Jackie stood next to him in a black sweatsuit, smiling and pointing at him.
The two have known each other for many years. They worked together back in 2010 on the movie The Karate Kid, where Jackie played a mentor figure to Jaden. That experience clearly stayed important to him.
In his message, Jaden wrote: “@jackiechan I Love You… You Changed My Life & Taught Me Things I Will Never Forget I Could Never Be Who I Am Today Without You You’re A Legend An Icon And A Leader Happy Birthday See You Soon.”
Fans quickly reacted in the comments. Many remembered the film and their connection. Some wrote things like “Karate Kid forever” and “The dynamic duo!!!”. Jaden’s sister, Willow Smith, also joined in and commented: “THE CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE.”
This is not the first time the Smith family has spoken about Jackie’s influence. Earlier, Jaden’s father, Will Smith, also shared a message for Jackie’s birthday. He talked about how important Jackie was during the time they spent filming in Beijing.
Will wrote at the time: “Happy 70th (wow) Birthday to My Guy @jackiechan!!”
He added: “Our time with you in Beijing during the Karate Kid left an eternal impact on our entire family.”
Jackie himself has also spoken about getting older. Reflecting on his birthday, he shared:
“Being able to grow old is a fortunate thing.”
The bond between Jaden and Jackie clearly goes beyond just one movie. Even after many years, their connection still means a lot to both of them, and fans continue to enjoy seeing them together again.
