James Gunn Reveals the One Rule David Corenswet Had to Follow to Become Superman
David Corenswet is stepping into the role of Superman, but before he was offered the part, director James Gunn had one important rule for him: he had to treat everyone on set with kindness and respect. Gunn explained that he had worked with actors like Chris Pratt and John Cena, who were always kind to the cast and crew.
He wanted the same from Corenswet. “I’ve seen sets that cater to an actor or director’s ego, and that’s just not something that would happen with David,” Gunn said.
Corenswet, 31, is preparing for the biggest role of his career. He knows that playing Superman will define him. “Would this be worth doing if this was the only thing I do as an actor for the rest of my life? I think the answer is yes,” he said.
One of the most important parts of the film is the relationship between Superman and Lois Lane, played by Rachel Brosnahan. Gunn knew right away that the two actors had great chemistry. “We shot the 12-minute interview scene with Lois and Clark. That was 10 percent of the movie in two days,” Gunn said. “To see the energy and magic between him and Rachel was awesome.”
Corenswet also shared how much he respects Brosnahan’s work. They both worked hard to bring their characters to life. Their connection will be a key part of the new Superman movie.
The film is set to release on July 11, and fans are excited to see Corenswet in the iconic red cape. With Gunn’s vision and Corenswet’s dedication, this Superman movie hopes to bring a fresh and heartfelt take on the legendary hero.
