The future of the DC Universe looks really promising right now. Superman is smashing box office records and getting great reviews all over the world. Next year, Supergirl will get her own solo movie, and there are a bunch of other movies being planned. These include stories about Clayface, The Authority, Batman, Swamp Thing, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Teen Titans, Bane, and Deathstroke.

There’s also a lot to look forward to on the TV side. Shows like Lanterns are expected to come out in early 2026 on HBO, and there’s a Waller series being developed for HBO Max by Christal Henry and Jeremy Carver. Other shows like Paradise Lost and Booster Gold are also in the works, but their release dates are still unknown.

Recently, James Gunn, the head of DC Studios, talked to Rolling Stone and shared some interesting news.

He said one TV show is just days away from being officially approved. When asked about reports that a Wonder Woman movie is being fast-tracked, Gunn laughed and said, “I don’t know what they mean by fast-tracking. I’ve always had Wonder Woman as a priority. But we got the first few things started, and there’s some other things that are really close to green-lighting — like there’s a television show that I hope that we’re gonna be green-lighting in the next few days.”

Gunn also stressed how important Wonder Woman and Batman are to DC’s future. “We really need Wonder Woman and we really need Batman, because they’re so important to us. And so it’s become a little bit more like going to everybody at DC and being like, we need to figure this out,” he explained. He mentioned that good writers are working on Wonder Woman’s script, but they want to make sure the story works well and doesn’t take too long to finish. “They have to not be somebody who’s gonna take two years to write a script.”

At the end of the interview, the topic of a Bat-Mite TV show came up, and Gunn joked about it, saying, “Yeah, the HBO Bat-Mite show. $150 million an episode.”
