Fans can also grab the 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD versions when they hit shelves on September 23. This home release is packed with special features that are sure to excite Superman fans and movie buffs alike.

The bonus content includes a director’s commentary by James Gunn, which gives viewers a deeper look into the making of the film straight from the director himself. Along with this, there are deleted scenes that didn’t make the final cut, a gag reel filled with funny moments from the set, and nine featurettes diving into different parts of the movie’s world and characters.

One of the highlights is the hour-long documentary called Adventures in Making Superman.

It offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the movie was made, sharing insights into the production process and the effort behind bringing this new Superman to life. The other featurettes cover a range of interesting topics like Icons Forever: Superman’s Enduring Legacy, which explores the character’s history and cultural impact, and Lex Luthor: The Mind of a Master Villain, focusing on the movie’s main antagonist played by Nicholas Hoult.

Fans will also get to see Kryptunes: The Music of Superman, which dives into the soundtrack, and Paws to Pixels: Krypto is Born, highlighting the creation of Superman’s super-powered dog, Krypto. Another fun piece is Krypto Saves the Day!: School Bus Scuffle, though the exact details of this feature haven’t been shared yet. It probably showcases some action-packed moments with Krypto.

Other featurettes include Breaking News: The Daily Planet Returns, which covers the return of the iconic newsroom, The Ultimate Villain, The Justice Gang, and A New Era: DC Takes Off, giving fans a full look at the movie’s cast of heroes and the new direction of the DC Universe.

The movie itself, Superman , is a fresh start for the character in the new DC Universe. James Gunn wrote and directed the film, and David Corenswet stars as Clark Kent, alongside Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, and others.

The story follows Superman as he deals with the fallout from stopping an international conflict engineered by Lex Luthor. The movie explores how Superman tries to regain the public’s trust with help from his allies.

Financially, Superman has done well, grossing over $580 million worldwide as of August 12, 2025. Critics have mostly liked it too, with an 83% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
