Jamie Foxx Admits Which Movie He Thinks Was Completely Awful
Jamie Foxx has built an incredible career since his early days, moving from supporting roles in films like Ali and Collateral to becoming a genuine Hollywood heavyweight. His transformative performance as Ray Charles in Ray earned him the Academy Award for Best Actor, paving the way for leading roles in hits such as Law Abiding Citizen and the high-octane Django Unchained.
While his resume is filled with critical darlings, Foxx has never been one to shy away from admitting when a project didn’t quite hit the mark. One of the most notable “stinkers” in his filmography is the 2005 action flick Stealth, which featured robotic jets and a star-studded cast including Jessica Biel and Josh Lucas.
During the press tour for his 2007 film The Kingdom, Foxx admitted that he had to put on a brave face to promote the project despite his personal reservations. He joked that he would tell audiences this is the greatest movie, only to have people confront him later and say they can’t believe you lied about the quality of the film.
At the time, Foxx had praised the director, Rob Cohen, calling him a party animal who knew how to blend intense technology with high-energy action. He also spoke highly of the military personnel he met during production, noting that Navy people are real people doing a difficult, often thankless job.
He believed the film helped shine some light on their bravery, emphasizing that there are no second takes when you are actually out there defending your country. However, looking back with more perspective, Foxx eventually ranked the film among his least favorite career moments.
As of February, Jamie Foxx is currently celebrating a major professional comeback after a difficult health journey. His action-comedy Back in Action, which famously brought Cameron Diaz out of retirement, premiered on Netflix on January 17, 2025, and is still dominating the global streaming charts.
Just a few days ago, the actor was spotted enjoying the Super Bowl LX festivities in Santa Clara, appearing in high spirits as he mingled with fans and fellow celebrities like Kevin Costner.
Fans are also eagerly awaiting his most ambitious project yet: the long-gestating Mike Tyson biopic. The project, which has now transitioned into a limited series, features Foxx in the lead role with directing powerhouse Antoine Fuqua and executive producer Martin Scorsese behind the scenes.
Foxx has been training for years to embody the legendary boxer, promising to show not just the knockouts, but the man behind the gloves in a performance that many expect will be another award-season contender later this year.
Do you think Jamie Foxx’s honesty about his past movie failures, like Stealth, makes him more relatable as an actor, or should stars always stand by their work regardless of the final product? Share your thoughts in the comments.
