Jeffrey Dean Morgan Reveals the ‘Red Dead Redemption’ Character He Wants to Play

Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been talking about a dream role he would love to take on, and the comments came straight from a fan convention where he took questions from the audience.

A fan asked him if he would ever want to play Arthur Morgan in a live-action version of Red Dead Redemption, and he didn’t even hesitate.

As soon as the question came up, he burst out with, “Oh f***, that’s the one I want to do!” He kept the same energy while answering and made it clear that he wasn’t joking about it.

He explained that it would be an easy yes for him, saying, “That’s not even a question. I want to do it.” Morgan also said how much he loves westerns, calling the genre his favourite without any competition. He talked about how his son plays the game and added, “And it’s freaking awesome!”

He joked that he would drop everything if the studio behind a potential show ever called him. He laughed while telling the crowd he would do it for free, then quickly backed up and said, “Don’t actually f****** tweet that out.”

The room cracked up, and he continued the joke, imagining a studio calling him and saying they heard he’d work for nothing. He admitted he wasn’t serious about the free part, but he repeated again that he would take the role “in a second.”

The character Morgan wants to play, Arthur Morgan, is one of the leads from Red Dead Redemption 2. The game itself earned huge praise when it came out, with critics calling it one of the most detailed and emotional open-world games ever made.

The first game, Red Dead Redemption, also received wide acclaim and is still considered one of the best western-themed games of all time. Both titles were celebrated for their storytelling, world-building, and strong character writing, which is one of the reasons Arthur Morgan has become such an iconic figure in gaming.
