Jenna Ortega Brings Autumn Style to the BBC as Her ‘Klara and the Sun’ London Press Tour Continues
Jenna Ortega has been one of the busiest young stars in Hollywood for the past few years, moving from horror hits to big-budget blockbusters. This month, the ‘Wednesday’ star is on the road again, promoting one of the most closely watched films of her career.
That film is ‘Klara and the Sun’, Taika Waititi’s adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s bestselling novel. After a long wait, it’s finally heading to theaters, and Ortega’s press tour has made London its first major stop.
On October 14, Ortega was photographed arriving at the BBC Broadcasting Centre in Central London, in a set of photos shared by HQCelebCorner. She arrived with her team and walked past the BBC London signage as she headed into the building.
Her outfit was a stylish autumn look. She wore an oversized camel-brown wool jacket with a matching mini skirt, black pointed-toe heels, and her dark hair pulled back. The structured coat gave the outfit a polished, tailored feel that fit the London weather.

The BBC stop was part of a packed day. Earlier, Ortega attended the official photocall for ‘Klara and the Sun’ at The Corinthia Hotel in London, wearing a very different Calvin Klein Spring 2027 look. That outfit paired a white top with bright yellow three-quarter sleeves with a long black skirt, a black scarf and black platform shoes.
She also had a furry co-star for part of the day. A dog named Sig joined Ortega for photos at the photocall, and the pair quickly became a fan favorite online. In the film, Ortega plays Klara, an Artificial Friend who is chosen by a teenage girl named Josie, played by Mia Tharia. Klara works to bring joy into Josie’s life. Amy Adams plays Josie’s domineering mother.

The ensemble also includes Natasha Lyonne as the manager of an Artificial Friend store, along with Steve Buscemi, Simon Baker and Aran Murphy. Waititi co-wrote the screenplay with Dahvi Waller, and Michael Giacchino composed the score.
The project has been in the works for a long time. It was first announced in 2020 and wrapped filming in April 2024. Sony then held it for more than 2 years before finally dating it for October 2026.
The wait is nearly over. ‘Klara and the Sun’ gets its headline gala at the 70th BFI London Film Festival on October 15, then opens in U.S. theaters on October 23. Australia and New Zealand get it a day earlier.
Early tracking from Boxoffice Pro projects a domestic opening of $6 million to $10 million. That’s modest compared to some of Ortega’s biggest hits, including ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’, which opened to $111 million domestically.

Her ‘Scream’ sequels opened to $30 million and $44.4 million, while her dark comedy ‘Death of a Unicorn’ opened to $5.7 million. ‘Klara and the Sun’ will also face competition from ‘Clayface’, ‘Wildwood’ and ‘Ali G: Who Iz I?’ on its opening weekend.
After London, the press tour continues. Ortega is set to be the lead interview guest on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ on October 19, just days before the film opens in the U.S. Fans have been closely following her style throughout the tour, and the BBC look suggests she and her team have planned plenty of standout outfits for the remaining stops.
‘Klara and the Sun’ is a different kind of project for Ortega. It’s a reflective, emotional sci-fi drama based on a celebrated literary novel, which sets it apart from the horror films and franchise blockbusters that made her famous.
