JENNIE Turns Heads Worldwide with This Unreal Frankies Swimsuits Moment
Jennie Kim is stepping into a new spotlight again, and this time it’s all about swimwear and style. According to ELLE, the K-pop star is teaming up with Frankies Swimsuits for a new capsule collection that blends beachwear with everyday fashion. The collaboration, called JENNIE x Frankies Swimsuits, is set to launch on April 2 and includes swimsuits, boy shorts, tees, and sweats designed with her personal taste in mind.
The idea of Jennie as a swimwear icon didn’t just happen randomly. It goes back to last summer at Coachella, where she performed solo. During the show, she untied her robe and revealed a swimsuit top with her name on it. The moment quickly spread online. Fans reacted instantly, and social media picked it up just as fast. What could have been a small stage moment turned into global attention.
That moment now connects directly to this new project. Jennie explained her connection to the brand in a simple way: “Frankie has always created pieces that I would actually want to wear, so I always loved the brand. I thought it would be a really cool opportunity to show my side of swimwear and create pieces that felt very me.”
The collection reflects that idea. It includes vintage-inspired boy shorts, soft crochet knits, and relaxed pieces that can be worn beyond the beach. The vibe is casual, easy, and slightly retro. Francesca Aiello, who leads the brand, also shared her excitement: “I’m so proud of this collaboration. Bringing Jennie into the Frankies world felt like the most natural and exciting creative partnership we’ve embarked on.”
The swimsuit photoshoot for the campaign, shot by Alessio Albi, leans heavily into that relaxed beach mood. Jennie is seen posing in different coastal scenes, from leaning out of a vintage van to riding a scooter along the shore. There are also moments where she appears alongside Aiello, both wearing simple white string swimsuits, keeping the focus on natural styling and easy summer energy.
Jennie also gave advice for people who may not feel confident wearing swimwear right away. “Start with one of the sets or minidresses so you feel comfortable first. And then you can always mix it with things that make you feel comfortable.” Her approach is all about layering and making swimwear part of daily outfits, not just something for the beach.
She even hinted that these pieces might show up on stage in the future. “Yeah, I think I would. I’d probably wear a swimsuit top with oversized pants or a jacket. In the summer, I like mixing swimwear with casual clothes to add that effortless element.”
Looking ahead, Jennie is also preparing for another big moment. She is set to perform at Governors Ball in June alongside Lorde and A$AP Rocky. She teased what fans can expect from her festival looks: “We’re still working on the looks. But I think they’ll be fun and a little bold. Festivals are always different from regular shows, so we’re trying a few new things. I’m excited for this one.”
From a viral stage moment to a full fashion collaboration, Jennie’s influence keeps growing, and this swimwear drop is just the latest example of that.
