Jennifer Lawrence Reveals the Awards Show Moment That Made Her Proud to Be a Woman
Jennifer Lawrence recently shared a light and funny moment that still makes her smile when she thinks about it. The actress appeared on Amy Poehler’s podcast Good Hang on January 20, 2026, where she talked about comedy, award shows, and the moment that made her feel proud to be a woman. The comments were shared during the episode, which was released by the podcast.
While speaking with Poehler, Lawrence said she often sees Poehler and Tina Fey online and still considers them two of the funniest people she has ever watched. She told Poehler, You and Tina, you guys hosted a Golden Globes that I was at, and you were the funniest people I’ve ever seen in my life. You made me proud to be a woman.
The moment she was referring to came from one of the Golden Globes ceremonies hosted by Poehler and Fey.
Poehler jokingly asked if it was the year they teased Lawrence’s movie American Hustle. She reminded her of a joke where the film’s original title was mocked. Poehler laughed and said, Was that when we said that American Hustle, the original title was Explosion at the Wig Factory? Lawrence confirmed that was exactly the moment she meant.
Lawrence also talked about what she enjoys watching when she wants to relax. She said she loves the political comedy series Veep and praised Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She also shared that she is a longtime fan of Modern Family and often goes back to it as a comfort show.
Reality TV also came up during the conversation. When Poehler asked which reality show she would want to join, Lawrence answered without hesitation. Well, I mean, I want to be on all of them, she said. She added that The Kardashians would be her top pick, mostly because of the travel. Cause then I’d be on a private plane going to, like, Fiji.
Outside of the podcast, Lawrence has had a busy start to 2026. She recently attended the Golden Globe Awards, where she earned a Best Actress nomination for Die My Love. The film is directed by Lynne Ramsay and stars Lawrence as a woman dealing with mental health struggles. The project also includes Robert Pattinson and LaKeith Stanfield.
She also has major projects ahead. Lionsgate recently confirmed she will return as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, set for release in November 2026. In addition, her production company Excellent Cadaver is developing new films, including a sci-fi comedy and a murder mystery inspired by reality TV.
Lawrence’s comments on the podcast showed a relaxed and playful side of the actress. Her admiration for Poehler and Fey highlights how much comedy still means to her, even as she continues to lead major film projects across Hollywood.
