Jennifer Lopez recently made headlines after a playful onstage moment during her high-energy Las Vegas residency. While performing her Up All Night Live show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the 56-year-old superstar took a playful swipe at her former husband, Ben Affleck.

The interaction occurred during a segment where she engaged directly with the packed audience, leading to a comedic exchange that quickly went viral among her dedicated fanbase.

The moment began when the singer spotted a particularly enthusiastic attendee in the front rows and invited him to join her in the spotlight. “Can we bring him up here? Yes, you!” she shouted to the crowd, before jokingly telling the audience, “Oh yes, look at this guy, we’re gonna take him for everything that he’s got.”

The humor took a sharper turn when she asked for the man’s name, and he revealed it was “Ben,” prompting an immediate and loud “ugh” from the star. Despite the mock groan, she quickly burst into laughter, signaling that the remark was made in good fun.

This public jab comes nearly two years after she filed for divorce from the 53-year-old actor in August 2024, notably choosing their second wedding anniversary as the filing date.

The high-profile split followed months of intense media speculation regarding the stability of their rekindled romance, which had initially captivated fans during the pandemic.

Since the separation, the performer has been vocal about embracing her independence and finding fulfillment as a single woman. In a recent television interview, she pushed back against the idea that she was looking for a new partner, describing her current state as her “happy era.”

“No! No I’m not! God forbid, I don’t want to ruin anything!” she exclaimed when asked about her dating life, emphasizing that she finally feels comfortable being alone. She confessed that in the past, the thought of solitude was intimidating, leading her to jump from one relationship to another since her early 20s.

To heal from the heartbreak of her latest divorce, she intentionally took a year off from touring and major projects to focus on self-reflection. “I had to stop everything and I took a year off. I canceled tours and just decided to be home and sit in what had happened,” she explained, adding that she refused to use work as a temporary distraction.

The singer described that period as a time when her life felt like it had “exploded,” necessitating a total reset to prioritize her wellbeing and her children. “I was just at a point where I was like, what is going on with you? Because I couldn’t blame anybody else because I don’t think that’s where the lesson is,” she reflected.

Now, she says she has reached a place of genuine self-trust where she no longer feels the constant need to prove herself to others. While she enjoys her personal freedom, her professional life is busier than ever with several major cinematic releases on the horizon for the year.

She is set to star in the Netflix romantic comedy Office Romance, which is scheduled for a late-year debut. She will also be starring in the upcoming psychological thriller The Last Mrs. Parrish.

Despite their separate paths, both stars remain dominant figures in Hollywood, even if their personal lives continue to provide occasional fodder for onstage comedy.
