Hollywood history is often filled with surprising connections, and a recent story involving Jessica Alba and Dax Shepard provides a perfect example. During the March 9 episode of his podcast, Armchair Expert, Shepard revealed to guest Amanda Peet that he and Alba once shared a brief romantic history over two decades ago.

He wanted to ensure the timeline was understood correctly, telling listeners, “I want to be clear, we were not dating, dating.” Shepard explained that they had gone on only a few dates while they were both in the early stages of their acting careers.

The two later found themselves working together on the 2017 Netflix dark comedy, El Camino Christmas, which brought their past connection back to the forefront. Shepard admitted that he was initially nervous about their reunion, assuming that Alba would prefer to keep their history quiet while on set.

He vividly recalled sitting in the makeup trailer and worrying that she might be embarrassed by their past interactions. To his surprise, the situation unfolded with much more transparency than he anticipated.

Shepard laughed while recounting how Alba shouted from across the room, “Remember when we used to make out.” He noted that he was taken aback by her openness, admitting, “I was so flattered that she wasn’t embarrassed she had made out with me.”

Both actors have certainly moved on to different chapters in their personal lives since those younger years. Shepard has been happily married to actress Kristen Bell since 2013, and the two remain one of Hollywood’s most public-facing couples.

Alba has also seen significant changes recently, with her long marriage to Cash Warren officially ending in February. As for her professional life, Alba has been keeping quite busy with a variety of new ventures.

She has spent much of the last year focusing on her production company and expanding her brand’s reach. Recently, reports have indicated that she has found a new partner in actor Danny Ramirez, with sources suggesting that the relationship has become quite serious since they began seeing each other in mid-2025.

Shepard remains deeply involved in the world of podcasting, where his show continues to draw major A-list guests on a weekly basis. Beyond his audio work, he is currently developing several projects for streaming platforms that aim to blend comedy with more grounded, dramatic storytelling.

He is also balancing these commitments with his family life, often providing fans with humorous updates about his household on social media. Alba is also gearing up for a few high-profile acting roles that are expected to hit screens later this year.

While she has taken on fewer projects in recent seasons, her return to lead roles in character-driven dramas has been highly anticipated by her fans. Many are looking forward to seeing how she balances her ongoing business empire with these upcoming creative challenges in the film industry.

These types of Hollywood reunions are always fun for audiences to learn about, showing that even stars have relatable histories behind the scenes. Whether they are looking back at their youth or pushing forward into new career milestones, it is clear that both actors have maintained a sense of humor about their journey.
