Jessica Biel (44) Shares Glamorous Behind-The-Scenes Moments Before the ‘Matchbox’ London Premiere

Jessica Biel has been one of the busiest stars on the promotional circuit this month. The 44-year-old actress has been crisscrossing the Atlantic to support ‘Matchbox: The Movie’, the action-comedy inspired by Mattel’s iconic die-cast toy cars.

The tour has already delivered several memorable red carpet moments. At the October 5 New York premiere at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater, Biel wore Dolce&Gabbana, and 2 days later she turned heads in London in a plunging black Nensi Dojaka gown.

Now fans are getting a peek at what happened before she stepped out. New black-and-white images shared online show Biel getting ready for the ‘Matchbox’ premiere, offering an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at her glam process.

In the first photo, Biel looks over her shoulder toward the camera, a plush white robe slipping off her shoulders. Her hair is pulled into a sleek high ponytail, with long waves cascading down her back.

She wears a pair of dramatic, sculptural statement earrings that catch the light against the moody monochrome backdrop. The soft lighting and close framing give the shot a classic, editorial feel.

The second image captures a more playful moment. Biel smiles widely while standing in front of a wood-paneled wall, still wrapped in the robe, with the same striking earrings and ponytail on display.

The photos show the polished hair and jewelry that would later complete her London look. On the red carpet, she paired that high ponytail and gold statement earrings with her black cut-out gown and pointed heels.

Fans loved seeing the quieter side of premiere preparation. The relaxed, candid energy in the images contrasts nicely with the bold, sculptural style she brought to the carpet itself. Directed by Sam Hargrave, known for the ‘Extraction’ films, the movie follows a group of childhood friends whose lives are turned upside down when their long-absent former leader returns.

That leader, Sean, is an undercover CIA agent played by John Cena, who drags them into a frantic international mission to save the world. Biel plays Aimee, one of the old friends caught up in the chaos.

The ensemble also includes Sam Richardson, Arturo Castro, Teyonah Parris, Corey Stoll, Bill Camp, Danai Gurira, Golshifteh Farahani, Daniel Bernhardt and Randeep Hooda. David Coggeshall wrote the script, with Matt Westbrook also credited. The film was produced by Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger, alongside Robbie Brenner and Ynon Kreiz of Mattel Studios.

Biel hasn’t been promoting the film alone. Cena joined her at both premieres alongside his wife, Shay Shariatzadeh, and the couple shared affectionate moments on the London carpet. In New York, Biel’s husband, Justin Timberlake, also came out to support her. He arrived at the theater in a teal green blazer, though he skipped the red carpet photos.

‘Matchbox: The Movie’ premieres on Apple TV on October 9. The film runs 2 hours and 6 minutes and is rated PG-13 for sequences of violence and action, as well as language. With the release just a day away, Biel’s behind-the-scenes images offer one last glimpse of the glamour behind the promotional run. They also highlight how much care went into each of her premiere looks.

Online, fans praised the black-and-white shots as elegant and timeless. Many said the candid smile in the second image showed just how much fun Biel has been having on the tour.
