John Stamos Joins Marvel as Howard Stark in New Iron Man-Focused Disney Series
John Stamos is back in the Marvel world, but this time he’s playing someone new. Disney has announced that Stamos will voice Howard Stark, Tony Stark’s father, in the upcoming animated series Iron Man and His Awesome Friends.
Fans may remember that Stamos already voiced Tony Stark in Spidey and His Amazing Friends, but now he’s switching things up for this brand-new preschool show.
The series is set to premiere on Disney Jr. on August 11, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. ET/PT. Later that same day, it will air on Disney Channel. For those who prefer streaming, the first ten episodes will also drop on Disney+ in the U.S. and other select countries the next day. This info comes directly from Disney’s latest press release.
In this show, young Tony Stark teams up with his two best friends, Riri Williams and Amadeus Cho. They’re super-smart kids who each have their own Iron Suits.
Together, they try to save the city from bad guys while learning how to solve everyday problems. Tony goes by Iron Man, Riri is known as Ironheart, and Amadeus is called Iron Hulk. The voices behind these characters are Mason Blomberg, Kapri Ladd, and Aidyn Ahn.
The series has a full cast of villains too. Tony Hale will voice Ultron, Vanessa Bayer plays Swarm, and Talon Warburton is Absorbing Man. Two of Ultron’s goofy robot helpers, named Nuts and Bolts, are voiced by Gary Anthony Williams and Mo Collins.
Several guest stars will also appear throughout the season. Jackée Harry plays Riri’s grandma, known as Granny Williams, who drives a pie truck. Jessica Mendoza, an ESPN sportscaster, will voice Dottie Doubleday, the owner of a batting cage. Stephen Tobolowsky appears as Spencer Q.
Sweets, the man who runs the local candy store. Lauren Tom voices Helen Cho, Amadeus’ loving mom. Disney shared that Williams and Collins also voice Nuts and Bolts, the robots helping Ultron with his evil plans.
Disney recently released the official trailer, giving fans their first look at the show’s bright colors and action-packed scenes. It doesn’t reveal too much, but it sets up the fun and friendly vibe of the series.
The show comes from Disney Branded Television and is made by Marvel Studios Animation together with Atomic Cartoons. Sean Coyle and Harrison Wilcox are the executive producers, while Michael Dowding directs.
The theme song, called “Totally Awesome”, was written and performed by Mark Hoppus from Blink-182, and Matthew Margeson created the music for the rest of the show.
According to Disney, the story was also turned into a comic that was released on Free Comic Book Day earlier this year, alongside a story from Spidey and His Amazing Friends.
